What you need to know about hydraulic hose

Hydraulic hose is also known as hydraulic oil hose, hydraulic hose, high-pressure hose, steel wire high-pressure pipe, steel wire braided hose. It is generally divided into steel wire braided hydraulic hose and steel wire wound hydraulic hose. The hydraulic hose is mainly composed of liquid resistant inner rubber layer, middle rubber layer, 2 or 4 or 6 layers of steel wire braiding reinforcement layer and outer rubber layer. The inner rubber layer can make the conveying medium bear the pressure and protect the steel wire from erosion. The outer rubber layer protects the steel wire from damage, and the steel wire layer is the skeleton material to strengthen.

Features:

1. The hose is made of special synthetic rubber, which has excellent oil resistance, heat resistance and aging resistance.

2. The tube body is tightly connected, soft to use and small deformation under pressure.

3. The hose has excellent bending resistance and fatigue resistance.

4. The hose has high bearing pressure and excellent pulse performance.

Application:

The products are mainly used in mine hydraulic support and oil field exploitation, and are suitable for engineering construction, hoisting and transportation, metallurgical forging, mining equipment, ships, injection molding machinery, agricultural machinery and various machine tools. And it is used to transport petroleum base (such as mineral oil, soluble oil, hydraulic oil, fuel oil, lubricating oil) and water-based liquid (such as emulsion, oil-water emulsion, water) with certain pressure (higher pressure) and temperature in the mechanical and automatic hydraulic system of various industrial departments. The maximum working pressure can reach 60MPa.

Correct selection for your application

Whether you are replacing an existing hose, or building a new system, you'll need to select a hose of the correct pressure rating, diameter, and length and with the best materiaproperties for your application. Here are a few factors to consider carefully.

Pressure Rating - a hose must be chosen with a maximum working pressure (WP) rating that is at or preferably above the normal maximum hydraulic system pressure.Momentary pressure surges for a hydratsystem are not to exceed this pressure rating.Hose fittings that are rated below the working pressure of the selected hose cause the entire hose assembly to be derated to the lower rating of the fittings.

Inside diameter - It’s very important to use a hose of the correct inside diameter. If the diameter is too small for a given rate of flow, the linear velocity will be too high. Excessive velocity will translate into friction and turbulence, which when combined will surely result in noticeably higher system pressure and heat.

Length - Correct hose length needs to allow for bending and flexing as a machine moves and articulates, and to make sure that no undue stress is caused at the crimped fittings. A hose that connects in a perfectly straight path from one component to another may shrink in length up to 4% at maximum pressure. Allow this extra length when making up the hose assembly. An excessively long hose adds restriction to flow, increasing system pressure and reducing system efficiency.
