Introduction of Various Valve Connection Modes
Introduction of Various Valve Connection Modes
There are four main connection modes of valves: threaded connection, flange connection and welding connection. This paper introduces these three valve connection modes in detail, as follows:
Welding Connection Valve
When the nominal diameter is large, the service condition is load cutting, and the temperature is high, the valve body often adopts groove butt welding. At the same time, there are original requirements for the welding seam, so the welder with excellent technology must be selected to complete the work. The welding valve with nominal diameter less than 50 mm usually has a welding socket to undertake the pipe at the load plane end. Because socket welding forms a gap between the socket and the pipe, the gap may be corroded by some medium, and the vibration of the pipe will make the joint fatigue, so the use of socket welding is limited. Welding connection is suitable for all kinds of pressure and temperature, and it is more reliable than flange connection when it is used under more load conditions. However, it is difficult to disassemble and re install the welded valve, so its use is limited to the occasions where it can normally operate reliably for a long time, or the service conditions are high and the temperature is high. Such as thermal power station, nuclear power engineering, ethylene engineering pipeline.
Threaded Connection Valve
Threaded valves are mainly those with nominal diameter less than 50 mm. If the diameter is too large, it is very difficult to install and seal the connecting part. Threaded connection is usually to process the inlet and outlet ends of valve into taper pipe or straight pipe thread, which can be connected to taper pipe threaded joint or pipeline. Since large leakage channels may appear in this connection, sealant, sealing tape or filler can be used to block these channels. If the material of the valve body can be welded, but the coefficient of expansion is very different, or the range of working temperature is large, the threaded joint must be seal welded. In order to facilitate the installation and removal of threaded valves, pipe joints can be used at appropriate positions in the pipeline system. For valves with nominal diameter less than 50 mm, pipe socket can be used as pipe joint, and the thread of pipe socket will connect the two parts together.
Flange Connection Valve
Flange connection of the valve, its installation and disassembly are more convenient, but flange connection than threaded connection of the valve bulky, the corresponding price is also high, so it is suitable for all kinds of diameter and pressure pipe connection. When the temperature exceeds 350 ℃, the load of bolts will be reduced obviously due to the looseness of bolts, gaskets and flanges, which may cause leakage to the flange connection with great stress.
Ferrule Connection Valve
Ferrule connection is the ferrule fittings used for the connection of instrument tube. It is generally used for pipes less than 16mm or 1/2 "in diameter. It is mainly convenient for connection, and it is more convenient and beautiful than threaded connection.
